What part of "Canada" don't you understand?

Talk about anything that's clean.

What part of "Canada" don't you understand?

The following was pasted from my wife's LiveJournal; this was a post from another user.
-------------
A phone conversation I had twenty minutes ago (quotes not exact).

Droid: I'm calling today from the Gallup polling company. We're talking to Americans about the upcoming 2008 elections. Do you have about ten minutes to answer some questions?

Me: I'm sorry, but I'm Canadian.

Droid: Is there anyone in the house who could answer my questions?

Me: No, there aren't any Americans here. You do realize you're calling Calgary?

Droid: (pause) I don't seem to have a Calvary on my Pennsylvania map. Is that near Pittsburgh, or-

Me: No, Calgary. In Canada.

Droid: (pause) You have your phone forwarded there?

Me: No, I live here. You've called Canada.

Droid: (pause) Oh. Have you made a decision on who you're going to vote for in 2008?

Me: Canada is a separate country. We don't vote in your elections.

Droid: (long pause, then in a totally mystified voice) Oh. Goodbye.

Lol.. reminds me of my own poll story.

Started off the same, but it was a certain party member's camp that was calling trying to get support. They asked me some stupid questions and so I returned the favor. I must have kept them on the phone 30-40 minutes asking their candidates views on anything and everything i could think of. Then at the end, the person asked if they could count on my vote. I couldn't help myself, I replied "oh, sorry I am not registered to vote." The words they said after that can't be repeated here. On the bright side, they have never called me again.
