New Graphics Card and Power SupplyI have a new graphics card and 500-watt power supply coming Monday. Wish me luck putting the power supply in without frying everything. I certainly hope it is easy to do! Any suggestions/tips are most welcome!
Generally power supplies can be set to either american or european power, Make sure the slider switch is set to the correct voltage. Also make sure the fans come on when the supply is turned on, nothing sucks more than a supply burning out too soon because the fans never worked. Other than make sure you dont wear any jewelry when digging in the case, ground yourself to the case before you take out the old power supply and dont pour mountain dew into the case, its fairly straightforward.
/and and performing computer surgery while only wearing a Zebra stripe thong is just *WIERD*
Also, ensure the smoke certificate is correct. Some electronic manufacturers have been using lower quality smoke in their components. They burn out faster, releasing the lower quality smoke. You can tell by the acrid-eye burning odor that it's low quality smoke, thus a low quality component. High quality components never release the sweet smell of high quality smoke. Reputable manufacturers usually have a certificate notarized by the Cuban Smoke Minestry, the best smoke in the world. Tobacco smoke that is....
Thanks for all of the advice everyone. I guess I should have read this forum before performing my surgery.
*Throws away Zebra-striped thong.......takes off welded jewelry.......sniffs smoke and sees fake Smoke Certificate* (Hey, but it WAS a good fake!)
I was more looking for specifics. The money was not the thought. The basic requirement so that I can purchase above that. I was just looking for advice.
