Cherry and KD, thank you both very much for the pinkys! I am at 98.8....woot! Hopefully, using just one or two more of these alacrity scrolls, I can get that last 1.2 points.

Using the Alacrity Scrolls and Scrolls of Transcendence my fellow Guildmates gave me, I GM'ed Mining a few minutes ago! Woohoo! Record time....(but, let's face it, I have nothing but time.)

I had never used an Alacrity Scroll at low skill levels before. I had always used them toward the end and gains were slim. I was amazed at how fast my skill shot up while using several of them at low skill levels! Then the pinkies that KD and Cherry gave me put me at 98.8 late last night. I ate another Alacrity Scroll today and managed to get the last 1.2 points barely within the 15-minute timer. I'm a happy camper again!

Thanks to everyone who helped and/or encouraged me! I was REALLY bumming.

Great news! I'm surprised you got that last 1.2 off of just one alacrity scroll. That's exciting, as you could have just as easily gotten no gains at all in those 15 minutes.

And yeah, using the alacrities at low levels is where they really shine. You can get a character up to a useful (AKA fun) level extremely fast, especially when you add in skill jewelry. I like to gain more through playing than grinding, so the less time I spend in those low levels the happier I am.

Yeah, I was surprised I got 3, maybe 4, gains in that 15 minutes. I was fully expecting just a single gain. I would start mining, hold down the macro key while watching TV and listening for the "digging" sound effect and then move a couple inches, wash and repeat. Mining seems to be one of the easier skills to get quick gains in due to the rapidity of skill......as opposed to, say, archery or barding. (After several years I think I have discord in the 40's. lol I HATE working that skill!)
