The Pat Tillman foundation provides scholarships to deserving veterans. A lot of veterans are returning home to a PTSD stigma that hinders their ability to get jobs and this fund helps them get past that. I'm not one for writing so I'll let them describe the fund.

With over 2 million individuals serving since September 11, 2001 and over 300,000 troops returning to school or work annually, the community needs to be made aware of the increasing demand on the limited amount of educational resources available to military families and the challenges they experience as they transition back to civilian life. The Pat Tillman Foundation is focusing its efforts on becoming the national leader in providing resources and educational support to this deserving group.

With your support, the Pat Tillman Foundation strives to increase the amount of funds awarded nationally each year to $3.6 million, representing the NFL contract Pat walked away from when he enlisted in the U.S. Army.

If you don't know Pat's story follow this link. Pat Tillman left a 3.6 million dollar NFL contract to serve OUR country. He lost his life in Afghanistan in 2004

I will be running Pat's Run on the 16th. This is literally the first time I've ran since my back injury in Iraq (2006). I had trouble walking down stairs after that. I've been weight training for 4 months and got running again I managed 2 miles without any issues and I should be good to go for the 4.2(42 was Pats number) before the 16th.

If you have the ability to donate please do even if it's 2$. I am a registered fundraiser for Team IAVA, funds go directly to the Pat Tillman foundation!

It's been a while since I left UO, and every day since then I've been training.
I finished 3.5 miles yesterday and my back is very angry with me. From relying on meds to make it through a work day to running 3.5 miles in 36 minutes 4 months later. That's gotta be worth 5 bucks to a good cause right?

It's tax deductible!

I deeply appreciate any donations! can't stress that enough.

If you can't donate please spread the word and the donation link.
There are other things you can do aswell, like volunteer for the event staff or just find the nearest shadow run and go out to show your support!

Finished the run! don't know how fast ASU's time people weren't very squared away. All I can say is I never stopped to walk. Thanks to those who donated to support the Pat Tillman foundation! If you still would like to donate I think it will be open for another week or two.
