Beware of a Vendor Who Routinely Scams People!

There is a Vendor house just to the right of the West exit from the Luna bank. It is on the East side of the sidewalk. The name of the house is "Wish You Were Here."

Back when I returned to the game after my year-long hospitalization, I purchased side-by-side logs there for around a half million or more. The description said it was the only one on Sonoma. Later that same day, there was another one there and the description said IT was the only one on Sonoma. I began raiding Merchant ships and discovered they are a VERY common item in the ship's loot. I usually get up to as many as 300 of the various types of wood, so they are rather worthless. There are twin logs made of regular wood, Ash, Oak, Bloodwood, and Heartwood.

I believe it is the exact same vendor that scammed me that is now selling:

He has a price of 25,000,000 gp on it. Judging by the stats stating there is a "Set Bonus", it appears to be just one of a 5 or 6 piece set of armor, so it is nowhere near worth that much. While there may be honest vendors at that house, I am boycotting it because the owner is allowing the scammer that got me to have a vendor there. It may even be his vendor.

Also, Brigde....I think it was....got scammed by a vendor selling an item that was bugged and showed some awesome stats for it. He paid a small fortune for it because he just came back to UO and didn't know about this bug that even has some furniture showing good combat stats. Don't purchase any of that stuff....not even thinking that you will keep it as a bugged "rare." The stats on what he bought disappeared shortly after buying it. He said his screen turned green and the stats were gone. Weird.

Also, beware of people wearing an item and spamming it is for sale. He may have on, for example, a Hat of the Magi and give you a great price on it (usually followed by a song-and-dance "I need the money" story. He will put up a regular hat in the trade box on the chance that you may just quickly hit the OK button without mousing over it to make certain it is what you think you are buying. I had a jerk-wad try that on me. It didn't work.

Let's keep everyone apprised of scamming vendor houses and other scams going on. It really ticks me off when honest people pay hard-earned gold to a low-life for a worthless piece of junk.

Yeah, a single piece is not worth 25 mil....the entire suit isn't worth 25 mil.

Ya Maldar ... it is, unfortunately another armor "set" that is pretty useless. I havent figured out why the devs keep bothering to introduce these sets that are much worse than even the stuff *I* am running around in =)
