Well! I have great news! I have an audition this saturday about a possible full ride scholarship to become a music major at a private college right in my town! I audition at noon! But I have been MIA because of work, school and this popping up in my plate! I keep saying "I'm hoping to get back on" and I really mean it, kind of redundancy is probably going to get people annoyed!
I just wanted everyone to be up-to-par with what was going on. I won't know about the news on the scholarship but I will keep you all informed!!!!

Had my audition yesterday around 12 - was interesting! I couldn't find the place, asked some boy (cute one too) where the music hall was and I was standing right behind it... Figures!!! I walk in, no one is around, I thought I was either too early (it was 11:45) or possibly he forgot, i waited around (now 12:10) thinking oh no, he forgot... Well 12:15 comes along, he stumbles through the door.
"Hey Jordan!! I totally forgot! I'm so glad you're hear and you didn't leave." something along those lines type of thing... he gave me a huge hug, kind of weird but hey it's neat, a hug.
We go into this "band room" it has 1 stand 2 chairs and a HUGE piano, like mutant piano, the biggest piano i have seen in my life, and it was not an organ... We had a good 10 minute convo about that... lol
We sat down, he asked what i wanted to do with music, i told him music education and he asked if middle school was my choice, i laughed and said uh no. (I cannot teach people how to play, i want to have them know how and go from there =P) But he laughed and told me he understood.
He asked me to play some scales, those weren't too bad, then it came to my chromatic, where you play every note you know (or well should know) for me, i forgot the top two, ugh did he laugh. He said well, try it a few more times, I'm not here to judge. Which I thought was kind of funny, cause he was there to judge. But i did my piece and he asked me to do a sight reading piece, I laughed when he showed me it, i played it already so it wasn't too bad.
He dreadfully asked if I had my piccolo, I said no, but from the size of my flute/pic. case he knew it was in there, so I had to dreadfully play a solo on there.
We got done, i took a theory test, oh word was that horrible! I thought I was music stupid for a good portion of it, he said it wasn't a pass or fail type of thing it was just to see where i was in theory. well... i wasn't anywhere close to good enough =P
We talked a little more and he asked me to fill out applications to be accepting to the school, fill out a few band forms, medical forms and take measurements for the upcoming uniform fittings so i can get one and start with the marching band.
Sadly when we left it was raining insanely and neither one of us had an umbrella. My three were shoved in my car, me being nervous I don't think fully about what the weather may be like... my poor piece got wet and i was soaked trying to find my car, and Dr. Etter's left his windows down, oh it was funny! But all in all it was good! He said he'll call me with more information about bands and music theory things. He wants me to learn the piano starting today basically to see how far i get by fall semester, and he said i should go up and talk to someone in registry and ask about taking a "pre-theory" class to get my ready for the fall theory class... soo.. all in all it sounds pretty good =)
