Training ResistOk...we used to have the resist parties at HQ1 where everyone would line up on the wall and our mages would cast on them to help them gain...Now during these sessions I remember being told to have protection cast on myself till I got to 60 real skill...after 60 I would not gain with protection on...well I just wanted to let you guys know that that does not seem to be the case any longer...I was training resist on my necro mage by havinga mage from my other account and my wifes acount casting on me and I am now at 106.2 real skill 71.2 with protection on and still gaining...Just an FYI for you guys...
Cool, I had trained my pally up to around 105 in New Haven but hadn't thought about grabbing a spellbook and casting protection. Note if you choose to train by using the spectral binder thingys in New Haven, keep an eye on your health bar, they only hit for 1-2 points with 70 physical, but I usually have 10 casting spells on me, and since I haven't found a good spot to bottleneck them at, all 10 get in a shot once in a while. They only cast debuff spells, so with 10 or more casting on you, you can gain nicely.
Ok...after many hours of macroing two mages casting on me I got to 120 resist...85 with protection on....LOL...ok I guess it was about 8 straight hours...maybe 10...forget exactly when I started
I found the best way to train resist is to grab a bunch of Spectral Binders in Old Haven. Bring them to the Inn in New Haven.Jump on the staircase on the side of the building. You get no damage and you can also cast on yourself. You can 0 - GM resist in 2 1/2 to 3 hours
