Everyone here are very happy to get any information you have on Bob. We are all praying for his recovery. It hits us hard when he slids back.
With injuries as he has this happens a lot, hearing about our other sad developments this spring has also hit everyone very hard.
I am very glad to hear they have caught the arrsonists who created this fire that killed the firemen and injured our friend.
God Bless Bob and his family--may he soon return home.
Hope now he is headed for recovery.

I hope your dad enjoys you reading our cards to him. We really do miss him and can't wait for his recovery.
If you ever learn the game, we will welcome you into PAS. If you use one of Dad's Chars we will help you with it--if you loose anything we can always get it back. If he has a spare Char Slot you can make you - your own.
Give your Dad a big hug *Group Hug* from all of us --Love ya Guy- get well, bring your Daughter into Pas. You can help her play.
Our Prayers continue for you and your family. Sky of KVP

Thank you very much for posting...We are all praying for Maldar and of course you too...
as far as the game not working I would suggest you uninstall the version you have on the computer and then go to www.uoherald.com and click on the download link on the right side near the bottom...you can download the classic client or the new enhanced client...ask your dad which one you need...then it should update and play correctly
if you dont want to do that then you could try one other thing and ask your dad to show you how to get into the uo directory on your hard drive and find the folder that is named patch or patches and go in there and delete anything in that folder then try to update the game again...
one of those procedures should work...
and please tell your dad that yes we realize that not having two hands would make the game very difficult to play and although we may not know exactly what he is going through would love to see him in game or talk to him in vent...
and please tell him that if he is into the crafting side of uo at all that there is a new crafting skill that he can learn that would enable him to play and make some very awesome items...we would all be willing to help him with getting the stuff needed to train the skill and since it is mostly point and click then he would be able to play the game he loves...just an idea for the furture if he decides he wants to try and play...

Kristin, thank you so much for taking the time to let us know how things are going. Prayers are with you & dad everyday.
Since you have a 'new' computer does it run on Windows 7?
If so then you need to run UO as administrator ..... right click the UO icon and choose Administrator .... also when new 'patches' come along they have to be accepted while running as Administrator. I think it has to do with 64 bit ... (have no idea about that stuff) but Pop just got a new puter too which has Window 7 and that is how we learned that you have to run UO as an administrator.
Hope that helps ...

if you dad has ICQ (it is a chat program) then ask him if you can log onto his name and you can talk to us in there...he should be able to tell you who the PAS people are...and as suggested above if he will allow you to log into vent most of us would absolutely love to help you learn the game
if you are interested in learning to fight we have tons of folks that can teach you...if you are interested in crafting we can show you that too...there is a ton to play in this game...
I also think it is a wonderful idea for your dad to show you...when he is feeling better of course...
also please tell your dad that I have been thinking about ways to play with the use of only one hand...I cannot imagine how hard that must be but please tell him that I believe it would be possible using the new enhanced client...can create macros and put them in the hot bar to do just about anything in game then just have to point and click...also tell him we are not trying to rush him back but we just miss him...

I phoned Bob's room over the weekend and spoke with Kristen, his daughter. Her new laptop is dead. Seems she forgot to take the charger with her. I was going to ship it to her since I won't be able to fly over there before next week, at the earliest, but I believe that Kristen will be coming back to go back to school. Although she was getting her lessons a week at a time, she hasn't been keeping up with them and has fallen behind. This isn't a good time of year to fall behind. It worries me that Bob will have too much time alone then to think too much.
I also spoke with the head nurse on duty who informed me that Bob is progressing nicely, still in the ICU, but still requires an additional surgery on his leg. He does appear to have some memory loss problems but, overall, he didn't suffer brain damage as badly as they feared he might. She said his spirits are on a roller coaster. His spirit is up one moment and down the next. We are hoping that he will be able to return "home" some time in May now. After four months, pretty much on his own, it will be good for him to be here where family and friends can spend time with him.
I was able to speak with Bob for a very short time and he asked me to send messages to some people on here and I will do so privately.
Thank you for your continued support of him.
