I hope that helps everyone know that in no way the 'current' em's targeted any of us ... i think the shock of hearing the word damned from an em caught our attention and we missed the whole conversation.
Personally I had fun during these first two events, albeit I stayed and watched from a spectators viewpoint and I give them credit for trying to bring some special fun to our shard that player ran events cannot do.
I fear if they were to give every one a little 'special' gift you would see more cross trading and selling off of these items ... like our RBG sashes, hazel beers and hazel feathered hats come to mind!
If you go to an event EXPECTING something special and receive nothing then of course the dissatisfaction is great, but if you go to an event to have fun and support the shard and by chance you do receive something special then the surprise is greater ... thats my philosophy ...
Anyone remember the machine in the Castle courtyard in Brit? That was a cool event, we all gave from our heart to have that machine finished. How about the new mage tower on Moonglow? As far as I know we gave so much for that, almost as much as the Brit machine, if not more. Again it came from our hearts, did we get anything special for that? Yes we did, a gift for all of us. How about that training camp Hazel made, we did not do anything, but it still out there in malas ready for anyone that wishes to use it. And those new tents outside Luna [If they leave them up] are cool.
I would rather see stuff like this then see the events we saw this weekend. I am looking forward to the Bank Deco contest winner being posted, and if they get something for the work they did, fine, but the real reward is going to be seeing the ideas and art they sent in for our bank. These are things I enjoy more then seeing the greed and the gimmie, gimmie that I saw Saturday.
As I said on the Sonoma Forum I hate D&P shows. I will be glad to see any event where there is no special prize and hope the EM does something soon. The day my wife and I caught the three role playing in Haven [last month] was fun and I hope to see more such events as that.
