My ticket is $376 for a non stop flight, that's not bad. I could get one for $200 something, but I'd have to change flights in ATL, why the hell would I want to fly from CA to ATL to TX, that's like 9 hrs...screw that.

Nice KD! Hopefully Mandorian and I can make since we missed the Cali get-together, but like Rex, we wont know till the end of May. And just out of curiosity, how far of a drive is it from Southern California to Texas? hehe

way to go Brianna!

and for anyone wanting to mapquest.com my address to see exactly how far a drive it is .....

8402 Caledonia Drive
Austin Tx 78717

Should be a long drive from anywhere in Cal ... but definitely worth it!

Cali to KD's? Expect 2 12+ hour days of driving with good traffic. It's over 24 hours straight through.

19-23 hours with no food stops etc. I suggest a 12 hour first day, 8 or so the second, last day come in in the AM. Not all fried after 12 hours on the road. If you can swing around that area of the country, see the gulf, go back through Denver, see Vail and then through Tahoe/San Fran it would make for a nice week long holiday.

Of course flying is always better, and about the same in total cost to fly down stay for 3 days and fly back.

Thanks Karn, that's kinda why we wanted to drive, just to make it a nice scenic visit to a few places between here and Tx. But I love the idea coming hime through Denver. That will be entirely new for the both of us.
