he watched impatiently as 3 PAS vessels steered their way between the Dorsette and NJ ..... he watched as Admiral Gulser himself flagged the intercepting ships.
"We don't have time for this, Admiral" said KD tersely.
Gulser finished the flags and looked back over his shoulder ... "Sire ... you yourself set up this blockade around NJ to ...."
"I know, I know" said KD as he raised his hand and took a deep breath and paused ... "Its just that they should be stopping everyone else, not us!"
Two of the ships veered to the right, the third one now turned to come alongside ... and the Dorsette maintained full speed ahead. KD waved to the ship ... and he saw the flagman answer back.
KD turned to Gulser, who had a spyglass fixed now on the other ship's flagman .... "Continue .... with ..... godspeed .... Sire" said Gulser. He turned to the crew and barked out more orders to maintain full speed ahead.
In moments they could see the dock, brimming with PAS guards ..... the Dorsette moved in quickly, and before they could throw the ropes to the dock workers ... KD leaped over the side and landed on the dock.
A PAS guard got off his horse and handed KD the reigns. KD jumped up onto the horse and rode quickly towards NJ Palace. There he was stopped by another contingency of guards .... who let him by very quickly.
He ran up the steps to the Palace, opened the door, and another series of guards slowed him down at the door, at the entrance to the hallway, and then 6 more guards outside Kyra's room.
He walked into the room and heard Kyra's screams and the doctors yelling for her to "PUSH". He strode over and held her hand ... and she smiled so big and then gave a huge scream and a push ...... and they heard a baby cry!
One doctor said "its a Prince! ... I mean a boy!" and the room erupted with a cheer ... along with the guards in the doorway.
KD smiled and kissed Kyra, who was covered with sweat ..... and they both smiled some more.
They wrapped up the baby and handed him to Kyra ..... she smiled again ... looking at her newborn son. One doctor asked "Whats his name milady?" ... Kyra paused for a moment then said to the infant "Welcome to Sonoma, PrinceDavid!"
